Quick Answer
The DC Deck-Building Game: Convention Promo Pack 2024 + Event Card is a limited-release set originally created for Gen Con 2024, featuring four standard cards and one oversized Doctor Fate card. It's a solid pickup for collectors who want convention-exclusive content and for players who enjoy adding unique cards to their Justice League Dark games.
What's in the Pack and Why It Matters
This promo pack includes four standard-sized cards: Spirit Shackle, Incorporeal, Vestments of Fate, and I, Vampire (the Event Card from Gen Con 2024). The oversized card is Doctor Fate, Lord of Order. All cards are designed for use with the DC Deck-Building Game: Justice League Dark and its expansion.
Because these cards were originally a convention exclusive, they're not available through regular retail channels. International fans can order the pack on eBay, which adds a layer of availability but also means you'll want to verify the seller's reputation.
Who Should Consider This Pack
If you already own Justice League Dark or its expansion, these cards offer new strategic options. The oversized Doctor Fate card is a fun centerpiece for gameplay, and the Event Card (I, Vampire) adds a unique challenge. Collectors will appreciate the limited nature of the set.
On the other hand, if you don't play Justice League Dark or prefer standard retail expansions, this pack may not fit your needs. The cards are not standalone and require the base game or expansion to use.
Decision Rules for the Convention Promo Pack 2024
- Do you play Justice League Dark?: If yes, the cards integrate directly into your game. If no, you won't be able to use them without first owning the base game or expansion. Check your collection before buying.
- Are you a convention-exclusive collector?: This pack was made for Gen Con 2024, so it's a limited-run item. If you collect promo cards or convention exclusives, it's a natural addition. Limited availability means prices may vary; buy from a trusted source.
- Do you want the oversized Doctor Fate card?: The oversized card is a unique gameplay piece for Justice League Dark. If you enjoy thematic or oversized cards, this is a key reason to get the pack.
